Dramatic siege unfolds outside home in Point Cook

Three men allegedly stormed a Point Cook home on Monday, bashed those inside, and took off in their Mercedes, a court has heard.

Police will allege David Brown, 34, Rymon Sarkis, 28, and Abdul Dabbouss, 41, stormed into the Bayside Road address about 10.15am with a cricket bat and assaulted the two people inside.

During the incident, Mr Sarkis is accused of brandishing a replica firearm and threatening to harm another man.

The trio allegedly stole a money tin containing $500 and a white Mercedes, which was found dumped by police at Point Cook shopping centre hours after the attack.

It’s alleged Mr Sarkis recklessly drove the vehicle away from the address erratically at speed and on the wrong side of the road.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said it was believed the men are known to the occupants and were arrested a short time later near the shopping centre.

The three men appeared in Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday afternoon from Werribee Police Station and were remanded in custody after lawyers declined to make bail applications.

The men have been charged with aggravated home invasion, recklessly causing injury, unlawful assault and theft.

Sarkis is facing additional charges of making threats to inflict serious injury, threats to damage property, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, reckless driving and possession of an imitation firearm and ammunition.

Mr Maxted made an order for police to hand over CCTV and forensic evidence to lawyers representing the accused men by October 6.

The trio will return to court on November 17 for a committal mention.
