A 32-year-old Altona Meadows man has been arrested at his home address after allegedly storming a resort in Point Cook while armed with a weapon.
Police allege the man entered several rooms on Point Cook Rd about 6.25am on April 8 and was searching for a person known to him.
The man fled the scene on foot and was allegedly last seen walking through parkland to the “north of Point Cook Rd”.
It’s understood the occupants of each room weren't physically injured during the alleged incident.
Heavily armed officers from the critical response incident team were seen scouring the area around Point Cook Coastal Park in the hours after the alleged incident, close to the Royal Australian Air Force base.
After police were unable to locate the alleged offender, they issued a public appeal for information as a seven-day search for the individual began.
On Thursday, A Victoria Police spokesman confirmed an Altona Meadows man had been arrested and charged over the incident on April 14.
“He has since been charged with trespass and assault with a weapon,” the spokesman said.
The man has been given bail over the incident and will appear in the Werribee Magistrates’ Court on October 11.
