A teenage boy has been charged after two men were allegedly stabbed during a brawl at Watergardens Railway Station in Melbourne’s northwest.

Up to 20 people were reportedly fighting at the Taylors Lakes station at 8.30pm on April 8 when police were called to the scene, a police spokeswoman said.

Responding officers worked to break up the alleged affray, but two males, aged 17 and 29, allegedly suffered stab wounds and were taken to hospital.

On Monday, police revealed a 16-year-old boy had been charged with intentionally causing serious injury, attempted armed robber and affray after he was taken into custody at the scene.

The police spokeswoman said he would appear in the Childrens’ Court at a later date but added detectives were continuing to investigate the alleged incident.

“Detectives continue to investigate and are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone that may have been driving in the area at the time of the fight,” she said.

“Anyone with dashcam footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.”

Since the alleged incident, police have been conducting random searches at the station targeting anti-social behaviour, saying criminal behaviour “must stop”.

On April 14 a three-hour stop and search operation led to 52 infringement notices being issued and the arrest of one person over the alleged seizure of cannabis and heroin.
