Pedestrian run over and killed on Black Forest Rd, Wyndham Vale

A pedestrian in Wyndham Vale who was lying on the road early on Friday morning was run over and killed.

A person has died after being hit by a car in Melbourne’s southwest while apparently lying in the road.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Black Forest Rd and Brimpton Grove in Wyndham Vale about 5am on Friday morning, where police believe a Honda Accord hit a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, who police have been told was lying on the ground at the time of the collision, died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police.

There have been 137 deaths on Victorian roads this year, compared with 141 at this time last year.
