Multiple vehicle collision near Bacchus Marsh, more than 20 taken to hospital
The Western Freeway has reopened with a lower speed limit after a 30-car pile-up brought traffic to a standstill, with 20 people taken to hospital and two males fighting for their lives.

More than 20 people have been taken to hospital after a 30-car pile-up on the Western Freeway.
There were six different collisions along the Western Freeway which led to the chaos.
The incidents happened in Myrniong, near Bacchus Marsh, just before 4pm on Monday.
One males is in the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition, while another is in a serious condition.
Two people have been taken to Ballarat Base Hospital.
The Western Freeway reopened overnight in both directions between Ballan and Bacchus Marsh, following the collision.
The speed has been reduced to 60km/h as repairs continue Tuesday morning.
Motorists are asked to remain vigilant for fog along stretches of the Freeway between Melton and Ballarat.
The Department of Transport and Planning thanked drivers for their patience as emergency services conducted investigations and crews worked to removal all vehicles involved.
