Man stabbed with a broken bottle in Truganina

A man was rushed to hospital after being stabbed with a broken bottle in Melbourne’s west.

A man in Melbourne’s west is in hospital after he was stabbed with a broken bottle during a fight on Saturday.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the attack took place in the front yard of a property on Everholme Drive.

“It’s believed a group of people were fighting around 4am and one male was stabbed with what is believed to be a broken bottle,” she said.

Emergency services rushed to the scene with the man taken to hospital by Ambulance Victoria with “non-life threatening injuries”.

A second individual is believed to have been injured during the altercation, but was treated at the scene.

Police say an investigation into the incident is ongoing and no charges have been laid.

The spokeswoman said investigators are continuing to speak to a number of witnesses to determine what occurred.
