Joshua Makiri, 38, of Werribee allegedly went on a crime spree in Truganina where he’s accused of stealing two motorbikes and a car in the early hours of December 27, 2024.
Court documents state Mr Makiri allegedly broke into a house with others in Truganina that night and stole an Alfa Romeo sedan and two motorcycles from the garage while the homeowner was asleep.
The alleged offenders left the house but allegedly returned with a trailer to load items stolen from the garage.
Then on May 19, Mr Makiri allegedly stole a motorbike from the premises of Occupational Performance Specialists at Pascoe Vale South.
He allegedly gained entry into a secure carpark by cutting the chain and lock that were secured to the motorbike.
On the same day, police officers on their way to Point Cook spotted Mr Makiri allegedly riding the stolen motorbike.
Checks revealed he had four outstanding warrants.
He denied stealing the motorbike, saying he got it from a mate.
Mr Makiri was bailed on mostly driving charges in April 2024 and failed to appear in the Werribee Magistrates’ Court on three occasions in November and December last year and in April this year.
He was arrested two weeks ago and bailed on May 29 to appear in the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on Monday which he did. He’s yet to plead to the charges.
He will next face court on June 24.
