A grub massage therapist avoided jail “by the barest of margins” for running a vibrating massage gun on top of a client’s vagina and telling her she had a beautiful body.

Anatoly Kitayevich, of Glen Huntly, sexually assaulted a 28-year-old in his practice on February 18, 2022 after she booked an appointment for a massage for neck and shoulder pain.

Instead, the 67-year-old used the vibrator back and forth between her hip and close to her underwear on top of her vagina over her underwear which caused her to jump.

He moved it back to her hip but took it back on top of her vagina and kept it there for a short time until she pushed him away.

Kitayevich was sentenced in the County Court on Friday to a three-year community corrections order on a charge of sexual assault.

“Let me make it clear to you and others that but for the delay and your very serious health issues, I would have sent you to prison,” Judge Michael Tinney said.

“You were a sleazy sex pest. You preyed upon her, using your occupation to do so. You should never be permitted to treat a female patient again.”
The court order prohibits Kitayevich from treating female patients for the duration of his sentence.

Judge Tinney said Kitayevich showed no remorse and only pleaded guilty not long before his trial was due to start.

The court heard that after sexually assaulting his patient, Kitayevich showed her a massage-themed book that had a picture of a vagina and said “Look, this is what I was doing” to justify his actions.

He then said to her “You have a beautiful body, a wonderful body. Find an older man who knows what they are doing, how to pleasure you”.

As she was leaving, he commented “You should please yourself, you need to please yourself because it would be good for your thyroid”.

“This was a deliberate, outrageous sexual conduct targeting a vulnerable woman who trusted you and who paid for your service,” Judge Tinney said.
