Two drivers have been caught with drugs allegedly packed into their cars after police spotted them allegedly hooning and driving erratically in Hoppers Crossing.

Westgate highway patrol officers first noticed the two cars, a Holden Captiva and a Audi station wagon, driving in convoy on Mossfiel Drive about 9.30pm.

They began following the two cars as they continued onto nearby Bellbridge Drive, allegedly travelling at more than 100km/h in a 50km/h zone.

Police pulled the two drivers over and conducted searches of both cars, and allegedly found a quantity of cannabis in the Audi and quantities of methylamphetamine and suspected GHB in the Holden.

The Audi driver, a 32-year-old man, was arrested and charged with drug, speeding and traffic offences including driving while suspended.

The Holden driver, a 33-year-old woman, was also arrested and charged with various drug possession and traffic offences, including unlicensed driving.

Both drivers had their cars impounded for 30 days at a cost of $997 each and were bailed to face Werribee Magistrates’ Court on November 30.
