Hoppers Crossing: Alleged drunk driver’s shocking reading after Willmott Drive crash

An allegedly boozed-up driver has returned a staggering alleged blood alcohol reading after crashing into two parked cars in Melbourne’s west.

A man in his late 40s was allegedly six times over the blood alcohol limit when he smashed into two cars in Melbourne’s west, and then tried to drive off.

Police responded to reports of a crash on Willmott Drive at Hoppers Crossing, off Derrimut Rd, about 8.10pm on Friday.

According to investigators, the man hit the two cars and attempted to drive off from the scene, but was followed by witnesses who blocked his car in.

When officers arrived, they found the man had been driving unlicensed and breath-tested him.

He returned an alleged blood alcohol reading of .309, more than six times the legal limit.

The 49-year-old Hoppers Crossing man is expected to be charged on summons for various offences.
