A fire has ripped through a home in Melbourne’s west on Friday morning.

Authorities rushed to Mulhall Dr in St Albans after receiving multiple Triple 0 calls reporting a house fire about 7.45am.

Firefighters arrived on the scene within six minutes to find the lounge room of the brick veneer home engulfed in flames, with tick clouds of smoke filling the sky.

A Fire Rescue Victoria spokesman said the firefighters found no one trapped in the property.

“An occupant has already evacuated (before we arrived). Firefighters checked for extension and monitored hotspots before overhauling the property,” he said.

Ambulance Victoria assessed one man on the scene.
