More than $2 million worth of cannabis has been allegedly seized from crop houses in Melbourne’s west.
Detectives raided at least eight properties across the western suburbs last week, allegedly uncovering 650 cannabis plants and about 10kg of dried leaf material from homes in Brooklyn, Baybrook, Tarneit, Point Cook, Hoppers Crossing, Truganina, Maidstone and Williamstown.
At one property in Point Cook, investigators allegedly found 257 plants, estimated to be worth about $1 million, on November 7.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the investigation remained ongoing and urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
She said three individuals had been charged over the haul, a 55-year-old Point Cook woman, a 35-year-old Tarneit man and a 60-year-old Brooklyn man.
The 55-year-old woman was remanded in custody and will next appear at the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on January 31.
