A man has been arrested after allegedly leading police on a high speed chase through Melbourne’s northwest, with the air wing helping to track him down.

A man who allegedly led police on a high speed chase through the northwestern suburbs has been arrested after the air wing spotted him allegedly hiding under his car.
Police said officers spotted a silver Toyota sedan driving erratically on Fitzgerald Rd, Laverton North about 9.30pm Thursday and tried to pull it over, but the driver allegedly failed to stop and sped off.
The police air wing then followed the car, and the driver allegedly continued to drive erratically through several suburbs.
Police successfully used stop sticks and the car came to a stop on Blossom Drive, Greenvale about 9.50pm.
The police air wing then saw the driver allegedly hiding underneath the car and he was arrested by local members.
A 26-year-old Altona Meadows man has been charged with reckless conduct endangering serious injury, drive speed dangerous, drive manner dangerous, fail to stop on police direction, bail and drug driving offences.
He was remanded to appear at Werribee Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
