A man has been charged after an 18-year-old has tragically died following a two-car crash in Cobden.

A Cobden man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death following a two-car crash last weekend, which claimed the life of 18-year-old Max Boggs.

The 25-year-old man was arrested in Cobden about 4pm on Friday.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged the man with dangerous driving causing death, careless driving and failing to give way at a stop sign.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at the Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court on June 14.

It is believed the two vehicles collided at the intersection of Bond St and Cross Forest Rd about 1.20am on June 5.

Young Irish teenager Max Boggs was thrown from the vehicle the 25-year-old Cobden man was driving and died at the scene.

Another man, 21, from the same vehicle was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The female driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital as a precaution.
