Two women have been taken to hospital after a car crash at a Warrnambool intersection.

Two women have been hospitalised after a two car crash at an intersection in Warrnambool.

Police, paramedics, SES volunteers, and the CFA were called to the scene at Walsh Rd and Clavens Rd just after 5pm on Thursday.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said two Warrnambool women were taken to Warrnambool Base Hospital in a stable condition with upper body injuries.

A police spokesperson said both cars had to be towed from the crash site.

It is believed a 30-year-old driver had to be cut from one vehicle and a 28-year-old driver of the other car was able to escape.
