Three hurt in collision between truck and train at Vite Vite

One person has been airlifted to hospital and two others injured in a collision between a truck and a freight train at Vite Vite in western Victoria.

One person has been airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital after a collision involving a truck and a freight train in Vite Vite, near Mortlake, on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Vite Vite Road near Mercers Road about 2.10pm.

A police spokesperson said one of the train drivers was flown to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The other train driver and truck driver were taken to Ballarat Base Hospital with minor injuries.

The spokesperson said investigations into the collision were ongoing.
