Air and ground support work together to fight fire at Camperdown dairy farm

Almost a dozen fire trucks and air support was called in to fight a grass fire at Camperdown on Monday.
According to the CFA, units from Camperdown, Bookaar, Bostocks, Cobden, Weerite, Chocolyn, Tesbury and Pomborneit were all called to the scene on Wiridgil Road in Camperdown just after 5pm.
“Crews on scene found a running grass fire with a baler involved by fire and approximately seven hay bales fully destroyed,” a CFA spokesperson said.
Aerial firefighting appliances were also called to the incident to support ground crews.
The fire is believed to have occurred near a paddock with 60 Friesian cattle.
It is not known if any animals were harmed.
The scene was brought under control about 5.30pm.
The scene was deemed safe about 7.30pm.
