A Botanic Ridge dad nabbed with an Aladdin’s Cave of meth, GHB, steroids and weapons at his family home has been jailed.

Timour Madkour, 41, was sentenced in the County Court on Friday to a minimum five years’ jail after pleading guilty to multiple drug trafficking and gun charges.

It comes after Dandenong Divisional Response Unit detectives raided Madkour’s Cornflower Rise home in March last year.

Madkour, who lived at the home with his partner and children, was nabbed after doing a runner through the backdoor.

Investigators seized a stack of drugs including 360g of meth, 1.8kg of GHB mirror drug ‘Bute’ and bottles of anabolic steroids and human growth hormones.

Police also seized a homemade 9mm handgun, four samurai swords, a knuckleduster, an extendible baton, a silencer, ammunition, young cannabis plants, jewellery and more than $37,000 cash.

Madkour was hauled into Dandenong police station where he made “no comment” regarding the meth and the gun.

Madkour told police he collected samurai swords and “self medicated” with the GHB.

He also admitted owning the steroids and growth hormones and claimed he bought the baton from Gumtree as a “vehicle safety device”.

The court heard Madkour lacked “life skills” and had trouble “dealing with everyday stresses” but was able to hold down a job.

Madkour has held various jobs including bricklayer, concreter and warehouse manager but

“gets stressed” when he can’t pay a bill, it was revealed.

It was submitted Madkour — who pleaded guilty to trafficking a commercial quantity of drugs, trafficking drugs, drug possession and prohibited person posses a firearm and silencer — sold drugs because “that’s what he knows” and he needed money to help his family move.

Judge Christopher Ryan noted Madkour began injecting amphetamines and binge drinking as a teen.

Madkour abstained from drugs during a stint behind bars in 2015 for drug and weapons offences but resorted back to using when he witnessed his father die of a heart attack on the day he was released.

The court was told Madkour, who appeared via video link from Marngoneet Correctional Centre, suffered from a depressive and anxious disorder which was consistent with symptoms of borderline personality disorder.

“(A friend) described your conduct as way out of character … however you have a long criminal history and repeatedly lapse into crime,” Mr Ryan told Madkour.

Madkour, who had spent 596 days in custody, was jailed for a maximum of seven years and two months.
