Melbourne Christmas lights 2019: 20 must-see displays in the north, south, east and west

Thousands of homes are sparkling into the night as we draw closer to Christmas. But it can take some driving to find the displays where owners have gone the extra mile. Here’s 20 of our favourites to save you time — and petrol.

You've been storing your Christmas decorations wrong

They’re all across Melbourne — the people who start unpacking thousands of lights and inflatable Santas weeks, and sometimes months, before Christmas.

Whether it is to raise money for charity or simply to bring festive fun to their neighbourhood, the end result is the same: thousands of people visiting their street to revel in their display.

Finding those who have gone that extra mile to make visitors’ jaws drop in awe can be tricky, so we have picked out 20 of our favourites from the dozen of entries on our interactive map to help you out.
