When it comes to takeaway, it’s hard to top a piping hot pizza.

And Melbourne is a hot spot for the Italian classic, which is served across the city in many forms — thick or thin crust, wood-fired or oven-baked, and with traditional toppings and gourmet twists.

No matter what your preference — let's not get into the pineapple debate — everyone has their favourite local haunt to pick up a pie.

To mark the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival — which includes an Italian Festival — we want to know who makes Melbourne’s best pizza.

Don’t forget, nominating is not enough to guarantee your favourite pizza shop a place — you need to vote too.

Then the city’s top pizza places will be revealed on Thursday, March 12.
