Tyabb brothers Sam and James Holland-Burch in 15 wicket bonanza

Two brothers have turned in an extraordinary bowling display for Tyabb in the Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association.

They went up in unison as James Holland-Burch put the icing on an unforgettable Tyabb triumph on Saturday.

In trapping Pearcedale’s No. 11 batter leg before, Holland-Burch took a hat-trick to finish the MPCA Sub District 1sts game in stunning fashion.

Tyabb (4-197 dec) had beaten Pearcedale (52 and 109) outright to climb to fourth spot.

But it was the performance of Holland-Burch and his brother Sam that had the town talking.

First, it was Sam Holland-Burch who lit the fuse, taking a career-best 8-19 to steamroll Pearcedale in its first innings, and he followed up with 1-29 in the second dig.

James finished with match figures of 2-16 and 4-24.

That’s 15 wickets for the match by the Holland-Burch boys.

Incredibly, they took all 10 wickets in Pearcedale’s first innings, which included six ducks.

James’s hat-trick — the second of his career — was the pièce de résistance.

Charging in and bowling straight and full, he trapped two batters plumb LBW and clean bowled another.

Tyabb’s spinners Lachlan Hose (2-12), Malith Chathuranga (1-11) and Paul Nelson (2-29) chimed in on Saturday, denying the Holland-Burchs a shot at all 20 wickets.

Between them, Sam and James Holland-Burch have taken almost 450 wickets for Tyabb.

Tyabb was awash with success on Saturday night.

Remarkably, its 2nd XI, 5th XI and 6th XI also took 20 points home.

Tyabb’s Fifth XI opening bowler Toby Di Iorio also had a match to remember, taking 11 wickets. He collected 5-18 and 6-16 to flatten Carrum Downs.
