1. TOM ROGERS (Ringwood)

Amazing, superb, mind-blowing … use any adjective you want, Rogers innings on Saturday was next level. The Ringwood opener finished unbeaten on 200, reaching the magical milestone on the last ball of the innings. Prahran simply had no answer as Rogers smashed 21 boundaries and four sixes in a 151-ball masterclass. Rogers now has three centuries and a 50 in five knocks and a staggering 551 runs at an average of 137.

2. JOSH TREMBEARTH (Greenvale)

The Kangaroos opener had been threatening, scores of 66, 79 and 74 in the opening three rounds, and finally made the breakthrough on Saturday against Carlton. Trembearth’s 119 is his second Premier Cricket century after returning to the top flight from a four-year break last season. Trembearth has been a shining light in a difficult season for Greenvale and sits third in the competition with 344 runs at an average of 68.

3. HAYDEN BUTTERWORTH (Geelong)

After some early-season stutters, Butterworth is finding top form scoring 43, 68 and a match-winning 104 in his last three digs. The Geelong opener’s century is his seventh overall for the Cats and takes him to seventh on the Premier Cricket run-scorers charts this season with 265 runs at an average of 53.00. Combined with fellow centurion Jack Riding in a mammoth 207-run second-wicket partnership – the highest for any wicket this season.

4. JACK RIDING (Geelong)

In just his sixth First XI knock, Riding scored his maiden Premier Cricket century. Forced his way into the Geelong XI after more than 700 runs last season and has made an instant impact, also scoring a breakthrough 50 in Round 4 and racking up 200 runs at an average of 50. Riding’s 207-run second-wicket partnership was critical in the Cats’ securing a 66-run win over Kingston Hawthorn.

5. ROMAIN GRENVILLE (Kingston)

Grenville saw two Geelong players reach triple figures in the first innings and figured he’d join the run-scoring fiesta. Walking to the crease at 3-27, it was 4-34 not long after, a 101-run partnership with Matthew Vorbach got Kingston Hawthorn back in the game but it ultimately fell short. Grenville remained defiant to the end, unbeaten on 101, a stay of 116 balls that delivered 10 boundaries and a trio of sixes.

6. SHOBIT SINGH (Richmond)

Jeez, talk about unlucky. Robbed of a century last week, left stranded on 98 not out, Singh fell agonisingly short again on Saturday, dismissed for 95. Despite a personal milestone within reach, Singh was out doing the team thing, run out, chasing late innings runs as Richmond went down to Fitzroy Doncaster. Fingers crossed he can reach a well deserved hundred in the new year.

7. PATRICK ROWE (St Kilda)

Continues to cement his place as the No.1 wicketkeeper-batsman in Premier Cricket. Rowe scored an unbeaten 78 opening the batting for St Kilda but will have to settle for middle order in this stacked line-up. Already has a century and a second 50 takes him to sixth on the competition run-scorers charts with 283 runs at an average of 94.33. Has nine catches on the season (ranked fourth) and a pair of stumpings.

8. DOM MATARAZZO (Richmond)

What a way to celebrate your 150th First XI match – a First XI career-best bowling performance. Matarazzo’s 6-30 is his second best career figures, behind 6-10 in the Second XI, and the second best figures of the Premier Cricket First XI season so far. The Tigers skipper used six bowlers before bringing himself on before proceeding to tear through the Fitzroy Doncaster line-up, including dismissing Lions counterpart Ejaaz Alavi for a golden duck. Sadly, the team couldn’t salute the skipper with a win.

9. MICHAEL EDWARDS (Northcote)

Edwards’ 6-21 were season’s best figures. We’re not talking individual or club but the entire Premier Cricket First XI competition. An outstanding return for the young quick. The Dragons opening bowler had taken just two wickets in his five matches to date but tore through the Camberwell top order, removing six of the top seven, and the Magpies were all out 59.

10. GEHAN SENEVIRATNE (Dandenong)

Perhaps controversially, we’re picking Seneviratne as the spinner, despite Kyle Williamson having slightly better figures. Seneviratne produced his best First XI performance on Saturday to help the Panthers knock off Melbourne University. The former Victoria Under-17 and Under-19 bowler looks to have finally made the grade at the top flight and took 4-42 against the Students, picking up the key wickets of Harrison Emms and Alex Yaksender.

11. WILL LOVELL (St Kilda)

Hand a hand in six dismissals on Saturday, five wickets and a run out. Lovell broke the Casey-South Melbourne top and middle order, picking up the key wicket of Swans skipper Michael Wallace, and finished with 5-36. A first five-wicket haul of the season, and second overall for the Saints, takes the paceman to nine scalps for the campaign.

12. KYLE WILLIAMSON (Melbourne) & SEAN McNICHOLL (Greenvale)

Williamson and McNicholl both deserve recognition for their efforts over the weekend and can consider themselves unlucky not to be in the XI itself. Melbourne spinner Williamson ran through the Essendon middle and lower order to collect his second four-wicket haul of the campaign. McNicholl, meanwhile, destroyed the vaunted Carlton top order, removing Evan Gulbis and Connor Rutland early before returning to snare dangerman Harrison Smyth and tailender Cam Stevenson. Bumped back to first change but the return of Darcy Bell and sent a reminder of his talents.
