With the Championship Division Men’s finals now underway, we’ve broken down the top players of the season.
Here’s who made the list and who is the best?
Sharif Black, McKinnon
Black has again played an important role for McKinnon his season as the team’s leading scorer. He’s been capable of putting up a triple-double most nights.
Daryl Corletto, Western Port
One of the most experienced players in the competition, the former NBL guard has been brilliant for the Steelers this season. He’s averaged 20.84 points per game and a competition high seven assists.
Nathan Davis, McKinnon
Has played a key role for his side with season as the second leading point scorer. He is a threat on three levels.
Kavione Green, Wyndham
A dynamic wing who has proven he can impact games in a variety of different ways this season. Interrupts the passing lanes and makes his opponents pay for any loose dribbles.
Maurice Howard, Wyndham
Howard has carried a large part of the offensive load for Wyndham this season with 26.05 points per game, well clear of his nearest teammate.
Anthony Kimble, Camberwell
Kimble was the Dragons leading scorer this season with 21.28ppg. He also proved to be a valuable commodity on the boards.
Jay Mackenzie, Camberwell
The leading shot blocker in the division after averaging 2.58 per game. Also contributed at the offensive end with 16ppg.
Troyce Manassa, Hume
In his first season with the Broncos, Manassa put up some impressive numbers with their title hopes very much alive after earning a place in the decider. Manassa was among the leading scorers in the competition but also capable of putting up triple-doubles. Led the leagues in steals.
Joel Rimes, Melbourne University
An impressive season right across the board averaging 19.05 points, 3.71 assists and 4.95 rebounds.
Ish Sanders, Sunbury
Returning to the Jets at the start of the season, Sanders impressed in a big weight with his powerful scoring once again on display. Also very creative with his passing ability.
Scott Stone, Western Port
Stone who was supposed to play for the Steelers before the Covid pandemic made up for lost time with some hot shooting through the season. He led the league in PPG with 28.88 on an impressive 46.87 per cent shooting. Also hit the boards and could impact games defensively.
Isaac Turner, Melbourne University
His team’s leading scorer this season with 23.09 points per game. Turner had a smaller sample size than most playing just nine games.
Lewis Varley, Bellarine
Despite Bellarine finishing at the foot of the ladder, Varley had an important season for his side as a leading force on both ends.
Anthony Williams, Keysborough
Nominated for the competition’s All-Star five after a brilliant season where he helped the Cougars to a top-five finish. Williams was his team’s highest scorer and best creative player.
