1. Dylan Brasher, Footscray
The opener started the calendar year in style, plundering 104 off just 120 balls against Casey South Melbourne. Brasher hit 12 fours in his second century of the season.
2. Matthew Wilson, Dandenong
Wilson got the Panthers off to a blazing start with 85 off 102 balls against his old side. He followed it up with 1-37 in the second innings.
3. Arjun Nair, Camberwell Magpies
Nair captured two wickets, including Melbourne University’s centurion, before making an important 51 off 61 balls in the successful run chase.
4. Peter Handscomb, St Kilda
In his first innings for St Kilda this season, the man who had been touted as a potential Test option for Australia’s tour to Sri Lanka, crafted a wonderful century hitting 104 runs off 113 balls including 10 boundaries and a six.
5. Dhruv Poojari Redhu, Melbourne University
After coming to the crease at 3-45, Redhu took the Students to a competitive score with a magical 112. He packed in six fours and three long sixes in his 118-ball stay.
6. Josh Larkin, Geelong
Produced his best knock of the season with 87 off 120 in a win over Frankston Peninsula. This was his fourth half-century of the season.
7. Devin Pollock, Casey South Melbourne
Pollock’s 67 off 68 balls, with five fours and three sixes, allowed the Swans to play patiently at the back end of their innings. He also snared five dismissals (four catches, one stumping) with the gloves.
8. Luke Destito, St Kilda
A stunning First XI debut. Destito was instrumental with the ball, taking 5-49 off his 10 overs.
9. Harry Hoekstra, Casey South Melbourne
It’s not often a 36no and three-for gets you a spot in the Team of the Week but this is certainly the exception. The Swans are in reach of the top four courtesy of Hoekstra’s heroics.
10. Josh Garner, Geelong
His best bowling day of the season, taking 5-34 off eight overs in the win against Frankston Peninsula.
11. Tyler Pearson, Kingston Hawthorn
Pearson may have only captured 3-24 but it was the timing of his wickets which earn him a place in this XI. Ringwood was coasting before Pearson’s three wickets led a Hawks 5-9 blitz to rip the game away from the Rams.
