Camberwell Magpies will put their own spin on the Freeze Motor Neuron Disease slide when the club hosts its own MND fundraiser on Sunday.
The Magpies will play Melbourne in a charity T20 fixture dubbed ‘Minus T20’, complete with a ‘classic splash catch’ pool.
Camberwell has a connection to former Melbourne coach Neale Daniher, who has been a MND crusader since he was diagnosed with the disease in 2013.

Former Magpies president Anthony Hall has been the driving force behind the event after his aunty Janet Barrett passed away from MND 20 years ago. His cousin Andrew, Janet’s son, was also recently diagnosed with MND.
“That’s a kick in the guts for us as a family but it makes my resolve for this to work even more,” he said.
“Andrew was one of the first ones to pay up and he’s jumping in on the day … a bit like Neale, instead of rolling over, he’s said, ‘I’ll have a crack at trying to help the next generation of people that need help.”
Former players from both Camberwell and Melbourne will take part in the T20 contest and it’s hoped the event will raise $20,000 for FightMND.
The event will run from 11am to 6pm at Camberwell Sports Ground.
