A stack of talent is joining the West Gippsland Cricket Association in season 2020-21.
Of the 31 clearances that have been granted in the past month, 20 of them are players from other associations.
Cardinia’s package of Langwarrin recruits have all been cleared, with Jake Prosser, Nathan Volpe, Leigh Paterson, Ricky Campbell and Mitch Bromley all set to help the Bulls charge up the ladder.
Dean Henwood — back from Garfield-Tynong — is another key addition for Cardinia.
Carlisle Park Vikings have secured Glen Alvie all-rounder Senal De Silva, who was named Cricketer of the Year in the Leongatha and District Cricket Association in 2018-19.
The Vikings have also picked up Parkmore Pirates batsman Anurudhdha Fonseka who scored a century against Cranbourne last season and played in the Pirates’ grand final side.
Officer gloveman James Parnall, who blasted a brilliant century last season, has also crossed to Carlisle Park Vikings.
Koo Wee Rup has regained premiership player Cody Miller, who has played with Dandenong for the past three seasons.
Lachie Ramage and John Bright are other key returnees for the Demons.
Meanwhile, WGCA president Bob Taylor hopes to know more about a likely season start date and structure after a meeting with the Victorian Country Cricket League on Tuesday.
“Some clubs want all one day games,’’ he said.
“We can’t wait until we get some clarification on what we’re doing.’’
