Cricket called off again

Rain has caused another weekend of havoc for local cricket competitions as matches are called off on Saturday morning.

Another round of Victorian premier cricket has been marred by rain as officials made the call on Saturday morning to call off play following overnight rainfalls.

“All Victorian Premier Cricket Men‘s 1st & 2nd XI games have been called off for this weekend due to weather and ground conditions,” a premier cricket statement said.

“All Victorian Premier Cricket players and umpires are advised that all Men‘s 3rd and 4th XI games have been called off due to weather and ground conditions.”

The wash out turns out to be the fourth in a row for Victorian Premier Cricket men’s competitions.

Players await for their opening game of the season which may finally occur next Saturday, October 29 in round three.

The Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association joined Victorian Premier Cricket and a number of other competitions across the state in calling off play.

“The Victorian Sub District Cricket Association Wet Weather Committee has decided to cancel all games scheduled for Oct 22 & 23rd,” a Subbies statement said.

“Clubs will be notified of revised playing schedule.”
