AFL legend Chris Judd’s return to the sporting arena didn’t exactly go to plan at the weekend.
Playing in Brighton’s Fourth XI alongside teenage son Oscar in a Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association clash against Mt Waverley, Judd was forced to retire hurt after tearing his hamstring.
Bec Judd took to Instagram to share the damage with her followers after Chris was forced to retire hurt on 21 during his side’s innings.
“This guy tore his left hammy playing cricket with Oscar,” she wrote.
“Look at that bruise. The lesson is old guys shouldn’t chase quick singles.”
The former West Coast and Carlton star appeared to be in good touch with the bat, posting 21 runs including two boundaries before he was forced onto the sidelines.
Oscar, who represented the Victorian under-12 state team earlier this year, showed off his own class with a 26-run performance before he was eventually run out.
Mt Waverley eventually went onto win the contest by five wickets in a match that went down to the final over.
