Three Sunbury stars made their mark in round 7 of Big V Basketball while a Mildura import showed just how good she can be. Here are our top 10 players of the week.

Big V Basketball’s best and brightest are continuing to shine on a weekly basis as the competition continues to heat up.

Here are our top 10 performers from round 7.

Ida Andersson, Sunbury, Championship Women

Andersson has become out of the most familiar names to appear in Leader’s top 10 players of the week after a dominant start to the season which should have her in MVP calculations. She was at her brilliant best again in the win over Hume as the Jets came away with a 106-73 win. Her performance included 34 points, six assists and three steals.

Dane Bow, Corio Bay, Division 1 Men

Talk about impact off the bench. In just 18 minutes on the floor, Bow finished with 24 points which included 6-10 shooting from deep. He also had four rebounds and two assists as the Stingrays ran out 102-75 winners over Southern Peninsula.

Joe Furphy, Melbourne University, Division 1 Men

The young gun put together arguably his best two performances of the year as Melbourne University won both its games in a double header weekend. Furphy started with 25 points on 12-26 shooting and six rebounds in an upset victory against Keysborough on Saturday night. He then backed it up with 20 points on 8-10 from the field in just 20 minutes in a big win over Coburg.

Dexter Graham, Craigieburn, Division 2 Men

Graham put together his best performance of the season as the Eagles broke through for their third win of the season. He came close to a triple-double as he finished with 26 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists. A block also showed his presence at the defensive end.

Manny Hendrix, Collingwood, Division 1 Men

Despite the All Stars going down by three points to Bulleen, Hendrix put together a big performance with 36 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists. Collingwood came close to taking away the victory after winning the last quarter by eight but ultimately came up short.
