A scumbag who allegedly spat on an innocent man in Melbourne’s CBD has been on the run for more than a month.

Investigators have been told at the time of the incident the hooded brute, wearing thongs and two pairs of pants, walked past his victim at the Collins and Spring streets intersection at 1pm on September 9.

The thug allegedly spat on the 32-year-old Southbank man, with his saliva hitting his victim’s cheek and forehead.

“The offender then walked from the scene,” Senior Constable Adam West said.

The alleged spitter was described as caucasian, thin, and aged between 40 and 50 years old.

Police have released CCTV footage and images of a man they believe may be able to help with their investigation.
