Woman caught behind the wheel while high on ice twice in two months told to prove she’s clean to earn right to drive again
She’s had drug treatment, been to a psychologist and done courses since being busted driving while high on ice twice in two months. But that’s not enough to convince the court to reinstate her right to drive.

A double drug-driver caught behind the wheel while high on ice twice in the space of two months has been told to prove she’s clean if she wants to get her licence back.
Ashlee Jade Ivankovic appeared at Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday and advised that without clean drug screens, her application to have her licence reinstated would fail.
She was told to come back with supporting paperwork and then she may be considered as suitable to get back behind the wheel.
The court heard the Chelsea hairdresser had been pinged drug-driving in April and again in May last year, and banned for a total of eight months.
She is now eligible to get her licence back – if approved by a court.
She said she had completed drug treatment, been to a psychologist and done courses, and had not been in trouble since.
“It was a bad time in my life,” Ivankovic said.
“I’ll never, ever do it again, I need to get my licence back.”
Judicial Registrar Julian Bartlett said he was not happy to take her word that she was still not using drugs.
“Drug-drivers are 30 times more likely to have an accident,” Mr Bartlett said.
“It is one of the reasons why the road toll is so high, it is more of a problem than alcohol.”

Mr Bartlett asked Ivankovic what evidence she had that she wasn’t using drugs any more, and she said she didn’t have any supporting documentation.
“My concern is you were caught twice in two months,” he said.
“Go and see your GP, get a drug screen and come back in a week.”
Ivankovic’s case was adjourned until later this week.
