Two injured in Dandenong bypass crash, heavy delays

One person has been taken to hospital after a truck and car collided on the busy Dandenong bypass, causing long delays during morning peak hour.

One person was taken to Dandenong hospital and two other were treated at the scene after a smash on the Dandenong bypass.

A truck and car collided just before 9am and witnesses said after the outbound crash, drivers were getting out of their cars to see what was happening, adding to the chaos.

There were heavy delays on the bypass at Keysborough.

Police have turned off traffic lights and will direct vehicles until the area has been cleared.

A VicRoads spokesman said the right lane had been closed.

“There are significant delays in both directions between Chandler Rd and EastLink Dandenong Bypass,” he said.
