A tradie has been hurt after plummeting from scaffolding onto a lower level at a construction site in Aspendale, with Fire Rescue Victoria workers reportedly smashing a window and using a cherry picker to help rescue him from the unusual spot.

A young tradie has been hurt after plummeting from a scaffolding platform in Aspendale.
A man in his 20s fell onto a lower platform at a house on Groves St about 9.15am on Friday.
Concerned residents who did not want to be named told the Leader a cherry picker had been deployed to help the man, who is believed be suffering neck and spinal injuries, from the awkward spot.
They said firefighters knocked out a window at the site, which was managed by Como Builders, in a bid to retrieve the man via a cradle.
WorkSafe inspectors arrived at the site following the rescue about 11.15am.
“Paramedics were called to incident in Aspendale about 9.15am,” an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman told the Leader.
“A man in his 20s is being assessed at the scene and at this stage he appears to be in a stable condition.”
Groves and Foster streets have been closed to traffic.
A WorkSafe spokesman said they were making inquiries.
