A talented water skier has been remembered for his infectious smile and beautiful heart after he was electrocuted while working at a popular Pakenham Mexican restaurant.
Tony Balalovski was tragically killed while installing a light at Taco Bill on Princes Highway on Tuesday October 26.
Sammie Petrevski said her cousin was a man “full of life and love”.
“Tony was the person who wanted to experience life to the fullest and make the absolute best out of his life,” Ms Petrevski said.
“Tony was special to each and every single person who was in his life, his impact on everyone was major.”
The 40-year-old electrician competed in the Southern 80, a ski race in Echuca, every year.
“When Tony was on the water, you could tell that’s when he was happiest, where he was most free,” Ms Petrevski said.
Ms Petrevski said Tony encouraged his family to love the water as much as he did and taught them all how to ski, wakeboard and kneeboard.
He also loved working on cars and boats and was always upgrading them.
“Tony was always the best person to have around you,” she said.
“From all the laughter, the tears, the ups and the downs, he always found a way to smile.”
Taco Bill chief executive Tom Kartel said it was a tragedy.
“This tragic incident has deeply shocked the Taco Bill family and we pass on our sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues,” he said.
WorkSafe and Energy Safe Victoria are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
