Three illegal brothels run by same Springvale woman in Mornington, Lalor, Coburg North closed down after police investigation

Undercover police have busted naked men and scantily-clad women at one of three “massage parlours” run by the same Springvale woman. The parlours have now been declared illegal brothels and shut down — and these are the locations.

A trio of massage parlours run by the same Springvale woman have been effectively shut down after a police operation uncovered them operating as illegal brothels.

The three are Holistic Body Relaxation Massage in Main St, Mornington and two Purple Crystal Massage centres in Lorensen Avenue, Coburg North and in Sydney Crescent, Lalor.

The business owner, Lili Lin of Springvale, did not appear in Dandenong Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

In her absence the court heard undercover investigators found naked men and scantily-clad women at the premises, as well as shower cubicles inside rooms and locks inside doors.

Online searches also uncovered the businesses were being advertised alluding to offering services well outside the realm of a normal massage provider.

Is your massage parlour actually a brothel

Exact details of the investigations and police methods used to root out the dodgy brothels were not read out and the tendered investigation affidavits were not released.

The three are just some of a long line of massage centres operating as sex dens that have recently been proscribed as brothels by southeast magistrates.

Council and police investigations have led to them effectively shutting down loads of parlours in their community-led fight against the dodgy practice, which can be linked to sex trafficking and illegal workers.

A sordid Station St, Malvern East, site was knocked out of business after an undercover sting by vice cops found out they were offering way more than just massages.

A Sandringham site, at 92 Station St, was so well known among the community that a politician had reported it to police before it too was shut down.

Cops even codenamed one Bentleigh East brothel raid as “Operation Twerk”.

Magistrate Pauline Spencer said on reading the affidavits the evidence was “clear enough” that the three premises were indeed acting as brothels.

All three sites have now been proscribed as illegal brothels for 18 months, and a big sign will be displayed on their front doors warning any visiting men (or women) they face prosecution if they go in for the purposes of a sexual act, in effect shutting down the massage businesses.
