An alleged Berwick hoon is facing more than 100 dangerous driving charges after allegedly filming his driving at 262km/h on the Monash Freeway.

One of two Berwick twins accused of more than 100 dangerous driving charges has fronted court, after allegedly filming himself reaching an eye-watering 262 km/h on the Monash Freeway.

Sushant Mittal, 20, appeared in Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on May 21 via video-link, facing a long list of hooning charges spanning multiple major Melbourne roadways.

In March, police alleged across 12 briefs that Sushant sometimes drove at more than 260km/h while also filming himself driving.

On Tuesday the court heard Sushant’s case was to be booked in for a contest hearing, which could last an estimated nine days.

Police told Magistrate Jacinta Studham they planned to call at least seven witnesses, including an expert witness.

The court previously heard Sushant was allegedly clocked doing 184km/h on the Monash Freeway on August 19 in 2022, just seven months after getting his probationary licence.

The passenger of the car filmed the alleged incident, where it is alleged Sushant said “this is literally what I do as a game”.

The video was later allegedly uploaded to his TikTok account.

Despite receiving a police visit to his parent’s home, it is alleged his behaviour escalated.

The court heard he allegedly engaged in speeding, hooning, drag racing and other dangerous acts including swapping seats with a passenger and leaving the car without a driver while it travelled fast.

Police have alleged Sushant drove at 217km/h in a drag race with another car on January 1 in 2023, in an 80km/h zone.

The peak of Sushant’s alleged offending was April 25 in 2023, where police say he reached 262km/h on the Monash Freeway in Hallam, while overtaking other road users.

The court heard on all occasions of Sushant’s alleged offending, there would have been “no time for other drivers to properly react, and would have certainly led to death or serious injury”.

Just two days later, Sushant is alleged to have filmed himself driving at 261km/h on the Monash Freeway, saving the video to Snapchat.

The court heard police had since seized the vehicle Sushant was alleged to be driving to have it tested.

Investigating officers found the car to be modified, enabling it to reach the alleged high speeds.

A contest hearing is expected to be booked into the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.

Sushant will return to face court on a later date.

Sushant’s brother, Subhanu. will also return to Dandenong Magistrates’ Court in June.
