CRANBOURNE

A suspected thief who stole an expensive vacuum cleaner from a Cranbourne store is on the run from police. Detectives are hoping to sweep the man up soon as possible after he nicked the $1200 Dyson vacuum cleaner about 2.50pm on May 29. Police have released an image of a man (below) they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.

NARRE WARREN SOUTH

A man who attempted to rob a man riding a bike in Narre Warren South on February 23 is wanted by police. The victim was riding his bike about 2.40pm when the offender drove up to him in a purple ute. The driver got out of the vehicle and demanded cash and property from the victim. Once he realised the victim had nothing to steal he got in his vehicle and drove off towards Narre Warren-Cranbourne Rd.

NARRE WARREN

A man who stole a mobile phone from a Narre Warren store on May 5 is wanted by police. It’s alleged the thief walked into the store about 1.20pm and stole the Samsung smartphone valued at $549. He left the store without making an attempt to pay. Police have released an image of a man (below) they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.

LYNBROOK

A couple of men who robbed a 61-year-old Hampton Park woman while at a Lynbrook pub on March 14 are wanted by police. The incident happened in the gaming room where a man distracted the victim while another woman stole her purse. Bank cards taken from the purse were used later at various locations. A care worker for the victim discovered on May 8 that bank accounts were opened in the victim’s name and money redirected. The man is described as of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern decent, aged in his late 20s, with short dark hair, a dark beard, and tattoos on his upper arms. He was wearing a black KSCY brand T-shirt. The woman is described as Mediterranean or Middle Eastern decent, aged in her 50s, with shoulder length dark hair. She was wearing a red T-shirt and black and white jacket.

DOVETON

Police are calling for witnesses and dashcam footage of a five-vehicle collision in Doveton on Tuesday, June 4. It is believed a black Ford hatchback was travelling inbound along the South Gippsland Freeway when it collided with the front of a truck at the entry ramp to the Monash Freeway just after 9am. The Ford slid across four lanes of the Monash Freeway, crashing into a centre concrete barrier. Another car collided with the Ford while two other vehicles collided trying to avoid the first collision. The female driver of the Ford was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. No-one else was injured.

HALLAM

A rare and valuable guitar stolen from a car in Hallam on February 9 is being sought by police. The vehicle, parked on Conquest Way, was broken into sometime during the middle of the night. An Emmons pedal steel guitar and a Nashville 112 amplifier were stolen. Together both items are valued at $9,200. A BMW driver is lucky to be alive after driving their vehicle into the back of a truck in Dandenong on May 28. The truck was travelling on Healy Rd when it gave way to southbound lanes on Frankston-Dandenong Rd before proceeding to the median strip to give way to the northbound lanes. The truck’s tray was protruding into the right lane of the southbound lanes. A heavy vehicle managed to avoid the truck by changing lanes but the BMW collided with the rear tray. The vehicle became wedged and the driver has sustained minor injuries.

DANDENONG

Police are hoping to find the owner of this photo album that was recovered in Doveton on June 4. The album contains family photos which appear to have been taken in Evansville, Indiana USA during the 1960s and 1970s. It’s believed that it may have been stolen during break ins committed in the Dandenong and Knox areas. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Oakleigh police station on 9567 8900.

KEYSBOROUGH

A woman who stole a handbag from a woman at a Keysborough store on March 28 is wanted by police. The suspect stole the bag about 3.15pm then used the victim’s credit card to make purchases at five different retail stores to the value of $2,060. The female appears to have a distinctive bruise or birth mark on one arm. Police have released an image of a woman (below) they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.

KEYSBOROUGH

Four thugs who assaulted a man at Keysborough shopping centre on May 28 are on the loose. It is alleged the male victim parked his car and had a short exchange with two youths in a shopping centre car park about 2pm. Two older male and female suspects joined in on the heated exchange shortly after. The victim was punched and kicked by the older male suspect causing fractures to both his eye sockets and nose. The older male offender along with the female and the two youths then got into a black Mercedes and drove off. It is believed at least two people helped the victim after the assault. Witnesses are asked to contact Leading Senior Constable Clifford at Springvale police on 03 8558 8600.

MORNINGTON PENINSULA

SOMERVILLE

A 39-year-old Bittern man has struck out four times after he was pulled over by police in Somerville on June 9. The ute driver was nabbed on Frankston-Flinders Rd for doing 76km in a 60km/h zone but police got him for other offences. The man had a cancelled registration, tested positive for meth and refused an oral fluid drug test. He also did not have an alcohol interlock fitted to his vehicle as required. His ute was impounded for a minimum of 30 days and he will appear at court at a later date.

DROMANA

A P-plater clocked doing 160km/h in a 100km/h zone in Dromana on June 9 has had his ute impounded. The 18-year-old Capel Sound man was caught by a Major Collision Investigation Unit member who was on his way home about 8.20pm. The officer, who was on call, was travelling south on the Mornington Peninsula Freeway when he spotted the white Mazda utility. The man’s ute was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1280. He is expected to be charged on summons with speed dangerous and exceeding the speed limit.

RYE

A P-plater hoon spotted by police doing burnouts in Rye on June 8 has blown more the three times the limit. Rosebud police saw the hoon doing burnouts in a white Holden utility on Johnson Avenue about 11.50pm. The male driver parked his vehicle, got out and started walking away from police. Officers stopped the man, with a breath test returning an alleged reading of 0.171. His ute was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1010. The man’s P1 licence was immediately suspended and he will be charged on summons with drink driving and traffic related offences.

FRANKSTON

SEAFORD/BANGHOLME

A Seaford motorcyclist has lost his Suzuki DL1000 for a month after he was pinged doing 133km in an 80km/h zone in Bangholme on June 9. The 49-year-old rider was intercepted by Somerville Highway Patrol on Thompsons Rd about 11.30am. He told police he was running late for a meeting with other motorcyclist mates. He walked home after his motorcycle was impounded for a minimum of 30 days.

LANGWARRIN

A Frankston P-plater, 32, will be without his car for a month after he was nabbed speeding in Langwarrin on June 9. Police detected the driver doing 126km in an 80km/h zone on Cranbourne Rd. The hoon initially provided a false name and address to police. He also blew 0.118 and his car was impounded at a cost of $961. He will face court at a later date.

FRANKSTON

A man who allegedly shattered the glass door of a Frankston pub during the early of hours of April 30 is wanted by police. The suspect entered the Pier Hotel about 4.30am. He spoke to several patrons before appearing to forcefully push open the front glass door, causing it to shatter. Police also wish to identify a woman who left with the man. Police have released an image of a man and woman (below) they wish to speak to in relation to the incident. Information to Senior Constable Mark Aitken at Carrum Downs police station on 8770 4100.

KINGSTON AND BAYSIDE

MOORABBIN

Moorabbin Highway Patrol were called to a spectacular “single vehicle collision” in Caulfield North on June 6. The man somehow managed to flip his car, leaving it leaning against a power pole. He fled the scene but police nabbed him at his home 30 minutes later. He was taken to the police station where he returned an evidentiary reading of 0.118. He was fined $685 and his licence will be disqualified for 11 months.

MOORABBIN

A commercial quantity of ice, some cannabis and several stolen bikes have been recovered after Caulfield Divisional Response officers raided homes in Moorabbin and Bentleigh on June 3. Three men were arrested, including a 40-year-old man who was remanded in custody. The other two men, aged 35 and 42, were charged and bailed to appear at a later date.
