A major weed bust, a thief who likes to steal from Southland and a savage roadside assault and robbery — and that’s just the start. Here’s what is happening in your area.

A major weed bust across three municipalities, a thief who likes to steal from Southland and a savage roadside assault and robbery have topped the list of this week’s crime wrap.

GREATER DANDENONG

CASEY AND DANDENONG

Police have smashed the Casey and Dandenong hydroponic cannabis crop-house trade after officers seized 1167 weed plants last month. Investigators from the Southern Metro Division Three Divisional Response Unit executed 13 search warrants across Casey, Greater Dandenong and Cardinia between March 19 and March 28. Police were helped to process unlawful electricity bypasses and associated criminal offences by local power companies.

KEYSBOROUGH

Two thugs who attacked a man in Keysborough before stealing his motorcycle are wanted by police. Investigators have been told the victim was riding his red Harley Davidson along Hutton Rd about 7pm on March 21. The alleged attackers in a black Holden Commodore ute tricked the victim into pulling over. One of the offenders struck the man in the head and drove off with his Harley rego YBEAR. The suspect is perceived to be of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, approximately 183cm tall and was wearing a black hooded jumper.

DANDENONG

A brute who stole a woman’s phone while she was walking along Princes Hwy about 4.30pm on March 9 is on the loose. Police allege the attacker got out of a silver sedan parked on Potter St, ran up to the victim and grabbed her bag. The victim fought back and managed to keep her bag, but the crook scampered with her phone.

DANDENONG

Investigators are on the hunt for a Ford Falcon GT sedan stolen from a Dandenong home last month. It is believed unknown offenders stole the car — rego MRKGTP — from the garage of a Pultney St home about 7.30am on March 17.

DANDENONG

A femme fiend who allegedly stole a 2007 Honda Civic rego WBN854 from Dandenong Oasis on December 1, 2018 is wanted by police. Police allege the car keys were stolen while the victim was at the pool. The thief also stole a credit card from the car which was used at stores in Pakenham and Camberwell.

NARRE WARREN

A man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 22-year-old woman at a Narre warren shopping centre on March 31 could be responsible for similar attacks. Investigators have been told the victim was working when the man touched her inappropriately. The man left the store and walked around the shopping centre for a short time before leaving. Police believe the man may have been involved in similar incidents in 2012 and 2013. The caucasian male in his 20s has a slim build, blue eyes, short blonde hair and a fair complexion. He was wearing a dark-blue long-sleeved shirt with a white logo, light-blue shorts and black thongs.

DOVETON

A pair of brutes who attacked a man at a Doveton pub because he didn’t give one of them a cigarette are wanted by police. Police allege the victim was in the smoker’s area when a thug asked for a cigarette about 1.50am on February 24. The victim said no and but the man and his friend abused him. The second thug punched and assaulted the victim before others stepped in to assist.

CRANBOURNE WEST

Four crooks who ramraided a Cranbourne West service station on April 4 are on the run. Police believe the offenders reversed a white Nissan Navara through the entrance of the Dandenong Hastings Rd servo about 11.50pm. Three suspects stole cigarettes before they fled in the Navara. A store attendant present at the time was not injured.

ENDEAVOUR HILLS

A 25-year-old man Doveton man has been arrested following an alleged aggravated burglary in Endeavour Hills on April 4. It is alleged the man entered the Knight Crt home about 6am then stole a Kia Sportage. The man crashed the stolen car on Power Rd in Doveton about 11am. He then drove a short distance before running away. Police recovered allegedly stolen property inside the car. The man was charged with aggravated burglary, theft of motor vehicle and traffic and deception related offences.

KINGSTON

SOUTHLAND

A woman who nicked several items from a Southland cosmetic shop just after 6.30pm on February 28 has found herself in hot water with police. The alleged thief put her selected items in a bag as she walked around the store. She then fled without paying.

EGG BOY

A 20-year-old West Footscray man has been charged with assaulting 17-year-old Will Connolly — the teen dubbed “Egg Boy” after he cracked an egg on the back of Senator Fraser Anning’s head. The alleged attacker was interviewed as police probed reports of the Hampton boy being kicked at the Moorabbin scuffle, which made headlines all over the world.

BRIGHTON EAST

A Brighton East property was one of several to be raided by Operation Acropolis police who had targeted drug trafficking in the south eastern suburbs. Caulfield Divisional Response Team members arrested and charged three people and seized a commercial quantity of cannabis, methamphetamine and MDMA from the properties.

FRANKSTON

A 40-year-old Frankston man was charged with possession of a traffickable quantity of firearms and other firearms offences, possess controlled weapon and possess drug of dependence on March 27. His arrest was part of a wider investigation into the activities of the Rebels OMCG across Victoria. The operation has led to a number of significant arrests in relation to several alleged incidents, including an arson incident in Harkness on February 14 and a shooting in Melton on February 16.

SEAFORD

A hoon crook who narrowly avoided hitting police while making a getaway from a Seaford service station is still on the run. Police watched a white Holden Commodore station wagon pull into the Frankston-Dandenong Rd servo about 10.45am on March 27. The car had a cancelled rego plate (OUG134) on the front. The suspect was approached by police but ignored requests to get out of the car. Instead he accelerated heavily causing the car to dangerously fishtail and narrowly missed police. He was last seen speeding down Frankston-Dandenong Rd. The man is described as caucasian, aged 30 to 40 with a brown mullet, brown beard and tattoos on his arms. He was wearing a black T-shirt with a rhino on the front, dark-coloured shorts, dark-coloured sneakers and black sunglasses.

MORNINGTON PENINSULA

MOUNT ELIZA

A 32-year-old booze hound will be without her car for a while after she allegedly blew almost four times the limit in Mount Eliza on Friday, April 5. It is believed the woman was changing her car tyre on Tower Rd about 11.55pm after she had driven from a Mornington bar. The engine of the car was running and the woman’s passenger was asleep in the car. The woman underwent a preliminary breath test and returned an evidentiary breath test of .191. The car was impounded at a cost of $1075 and the woman’s licence was immediately suspended for 12 months.

SOMERVILLE

An unknown number of thieves who burgled a Somerville home sometime between April 8 and April 9 are wanted by police. Police believe the offenders broke into the garage of the Graff Rd home and stole a black Yamaha R1 motorcycle.

MORNINGTON

Some crooks who broke into a Mornington home sometime between April 7 and April 8 have fled empty-handed. Police said the burglars damaged the garage before they entered the Caversham Rd property.

RYE

Criminals have stolen number plates from a car parked out the front of a Rye home. It’s not certain when the WIX990 plates were stolen from the Nautilus St property.

MORNINGTON

A crim with a penchant for expensive apparel has done over a car parked out the front of a Mornington home. It’s believed the thief stole cash, keys and $430 Armani sunglasses from the car on Watt Rd sometime between April 7 and April 8.
