A crap-chucking crook who threatened his dad with a dead pigeon and flung poo around a police cell has done a runner.
Ricky Ross Jeremiah had also spat at a custody officer, stripped naked and kicked cell walls because he didn’t like being put in isolation.
The Tyabb 36-year-old pleaded guilty at Frankston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday to charges including assaulting an emergency worker on duty.
He was given bail for a community corrections order assessment and to be sentenced on Thursday, but didn’t turn up for court.
He was then bailed again in his absence to appear on Friday morning, but again refused to show, with his defence lawyer saying he “had gone AWOL”.
The court heard on August 5 this year Jeremiah was arrested at his father’s Hastings workplace wielding a dead pigeon on the end of a stick.
He had threatened his dad, saying “I have killed the bird and I am going to kill you”.
The father called police and Jeremiah was arrested and remanded in Frankston police custody.
He then really lost the plot, taking off his clothes, defecating and throwing his faeces round his cell and spitting at a custody officer.
Jeremiah’s lawyer told the court her client suffered from an acquired brain injury and had been in and out of psychiatric hospitals throughout his 20s and 30s.
She said he had also been diagnosed with ADHD as a child, had been using cannabis since he was a teen and had ongoing mental health concerns.
On Friday she said he had disappeared and could not be found.
Magistrate Charles Tan said Jeremiah had been given bail on the proviso he would have a community corrections order assessment.
He failed to do so and was then bailed a second time – in his absence – to appear at court on Friday, but again did not show.
Mr Tan said he had no choice but to revoke bail and issue a warrant for Jeremiah’s arrest.
