Police are hunting for a driver following a hit-run that left a man with serious injuries in Wheelers Hill.

It’s alleged a stolen Ford Ranger was travelling west along Mackintosh Rd when the driver lost control and crashed head-on with a parked car about 6pm on February 8.

Leading Senior Constable Melissa Seach said the owner of the parked car was looking into the boot of his vehicle at the time of the crash and was thrown backwards.

The male driver of the alleged stolen car fled the scene.

The victim, a 42-year-old Mulgrave man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police have released an image of the alleged driver, Jeremy Jose, in the hope someone has information on his current whereabouts.

Mr Jose has brown hair, a right-arm tattoo sleeve and of a caucasian appearance.

He was wearing sunglasses, blue shorts and a distinctive white top with a red heart on it.

Anyone who has more information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
