A distraught Pakenham family has been told their beloved Staffy pup was stolen from their vet by a man named Michael Jackson.
Steps Murray told the Leader when she went to get the dog on Sunday morning at 10am from Greencross Vets Pakenham, she was told he had already been collected.
She said police later told her they’d been told the man who took five-month-old Hudson provided an American driver's licence with the name Michael Jackson.
The English staffy was handed in to the veterinary clinic on Saturday, November 2, after he escaped from his property.
A neighbour found Hudson circling the street and doorknocked several houses, but when she had no luck finding his owner, she posted the dog as lost on Facebook and took him to the vet.

“We returned home from the wedding at 11pm, so we went to the vet the next morning and waited for it to open. We were then told by the vet nurse he had already been collected,” Ms Murray said.
“I was in complete shock and the vet nurse’s face dropped and I’ve been told one of the nurses burst into tears when she realised what happened.”
She believes “Michael Jackson” must have done this type of thing before.
“And that’s what worries me the most. He’s been sinister and seen that Hudson was handed in to the vet and hopes that vets will be gullible enough to hand over the lost dog.”
Ms Murray said she begged the person responsible to return their much-loved pet.
“Do the right thing and hand him back – my three children miss him so much especially my two-year-old as he’s her best friend,” she said.
“I want people to be vigilant and to be as vague as possible when listing lost pets on social media.
“I also hope vets can also ensure that things such as microchip details are given and all the paperwork before pets are picked up.”
Ms Murray said she urged the community to monitor classifieds websites such as Gumtree and Facebook pages to locate the pup.

A police spokesman said an unknown man attended the vet clinic about 1.30pm and falsely claimed the dog after seeing a Facebook post regarding the missing dog.
The man is described as African appearance, about 185cm, mid 20s with medium build and short hair. He was wearing a baseball cap and T-shirt at the time.
There was no one at Greencross Vets Pakenham for comment when Leader called.
If anyone has any information on the theft of Hudson they are urged to contact Crimestoppers.
