A Narre Warren South landscaper raped a woman in her own home after drinking at a popular Ringwood bar.
Silvester Sor, 26, pleaded guilty in the County Court on Tuesday to a single charge of rape.
Sor raped his then 22-year-old victim in her own bed after the pair had been partying at Orange Whip on July 7, 2017.
The court was told Sor went back to his victim’s house and raped her in her bed while she slept.
The victim woke to find Sor raping her without wearing a condom.
She asked the fiend what he was doing.
“I don’t know what I was doing, you grabbed me like you wanted me,” Sor said.
The victim cried and Sor left her home.
Sor messaged his victim later that day and apologised but she reported him to police.
“I’m not that type of person,” he said.
Sor told police he drank several beers before going to the popular Maroondah Hwy bar where he consumed more alcohol including multiple skittle bombs and tequila shots.
Sor’s victim had not been drinking.
Sor told police his victim had been sleeping but thought maybe she had woken up.
“We got touchy touchy together,” Sor told police.
The woman had her victim impact statement read to the court.
She said she now suffers depression, nightmares, panic attacks, anxiety attacks.
“I used to be a very social person, some would say a ‘social butterfly’,” the woman said.
“But I have lost all my friends now because they didn’t believe me.”
The court heard Sor’s matter was delayed after a professional opined he may have an intellectual disability but it was later determined he did not.
Sor was bullied at primary school then went to high school where was “not a bright student” before dropping out in Year 11, the court heard.
Sor primarily worked as a landscaper but he eventually hoped to get a job in IT.
The court heard Sor experimented with ecstasy and cannabis and was a binge-drinker when he was younger.
It was submitted Sor has cut right back on his alcohol consumption and only drinks during special occasions.
Judge Anne Hassan extended Sor’s bail for sentencing on December 3 but ordered he appear in person.
“There’s no mystery as what’s going to happen here,” she said.
