WANT to quiz your candidates about their public transport plans? Here’s your chance.

The MTF Transport Forum is on tomorrow in Frankston.

Hosted by Frankston Council and Mornington Peninsula Shire, the free event is one of 15 forums being held across Melbourne ahead of the November State Election.

Speakers will include state Labor MP Paul Edbrooke, Opposition spokesman for public transport David Davis and South Eastern Metropolitan Greens MP Nina Springle.

Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Bryan Payne said out of the 30 councils in the Melbourne metropolitan area, the shire had the second lowest provision of public transport. “This is a great opportunity,” Cr Payne said.

“I encourage community members to come along to discuss local transport issues, like the electrification of rail to Baxter and Hastings, more frequent buses, improved road congestion and more,” Cr Payne said.

Frankston Mayor Colin Hampton said he encouraged people to come along.

“We look forward to hearing which transport projects candidates plan to commit to in Frankston and the wider Peninsula region, ahead of the November State Election,” Cr Payne said.

The MTF Transport Forum Frankston and Mornington Peninsula is on tomorrow, 6.30pm, at the Mechanics Hall, Frankston. It’s a free event.
