FRANKSTON station has been demolished with level crossing removal works ramping up over the next month.
Buses are replacing trains along sections of the Frankston line until June 17 as a construction blitz intensifies to remove the Skye/Overton Rd level crossing and build a new Frankston station.
At the end of the works, the level crossing will be gone and passengers will be able to board trains from the new station platforms while ongoing works continue to complete the station buildings.
The station will open in June, and the new station precinct will be fully complete by the end of the year.

The new station will feature a distinctive new canopy and buildings, upgrades to the entrance and subway access and new public plazas and walkways.
Further up the line at the Seaford Road level crossing, the level crossing removal project team will use the opportunity of the rail line closure to build more than 1km of temporary track, to allow trains to continue running through Seaford while the majority of future works take place.
Buses will replace trains between Frankston and Carrum – and on the entire Stony Point line – until the last service on June 17.
The southbound lane of Young St will be closed until June 25.
Seaford Rd will be closed at the level crossing from today until May 19.
Meanwhile the Federal Government announced it would spend $225 million on electrifying the Frankston line to Baxter in this week’s budget.
