Moorabbin police investigate burglary and theft attempts at Aspendale Gardens, Mentone, Clayton Mount Waverley and Doncaster East
An alleged car thief could be linked to a string of burglary offences across Melbourne’s southeast which included purchasing booze with stolen bank cards.

An alleged car thief is believed to be involved in a number of burglary attempts last month which included allegedly stealing a motorbike, phone and bank cards for booze.
Moorabbin detectives are investigating a string of burglary, thefts and attempted burglaries across Melbourne’s southeast last month.
Police believe a man forced entry into a property on Winners Cct, Aspendale Gardens between 10pm March 6 and 10am March 7.
A car was stolen, as well as bank cards which were used to purchase alcohol in Mentone.
Police were told a motorbike was stolen from Blackburn Rd, Clayton that day.
Police believe the offending is linked to another Mentone incident on March 10 when a mobile phone, sunglasses and keys were stolen from a parked car on Balcombe Rd.
Detectives are also investigating two attempted burglaries, one in Mount Waverley (March 11), and Doncaster East (March 14).
Those incidents are also believed to be linked at this stage.
Investigators have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
