A Parkdale teen is bringing boho to the backyards of Melburnians, using the coronavirus lockdown to kickstart her unique glamping and picnic business venture.
And Belle Lynch, 19 is offering an unforgettable staycation that will have holiday-makers feeling like they’re in another world — but only a few steps away from the comfort of their home.
The bright idea — now known as Melbourne Glamping — was sparked when the aspiring musician lost work singing across southeast bars and restaurants after the lockdown.
Ms Lynch claims she is saving glampers — glamorous campers — the trip to regional Victoria where stays in trendy teepees can soar past $400 a night with additional costs, including petrol and amenities.
“Like many others once mid-March arrived, I lost all my big upcoming gigs … I decided to start a cute little business perfect for isolation time,” the former Star of the Sea College student said.
“My boyfriend Tristan and I were looking for somewhere to celebrate our anniversary but there was nowhere to go during lockdown … so we set up our own beautiful bell tent in the backyard.
“With Melbourne Glamping, you don’t have to take the trip down to Daylesford and spend extra money on petrol or use a port-a-loo … everything’s still accessible in your home.”
Loved-up glampers can book a romantic couples experience which includes a stunning 5m bell tent with a plush queen mattress, luxury linen, champagne, scattered rose petals, cushions, twinkling interior fairy lights and a fire pit.
More packages include the children’s and teen ‘glampout’ pack where up to eight young ones starting from five years old can be treated to a private party just metres from home with party bags, single mattresses, cushions, throw rugs, fairy lights and styling options for girls and boys.
Hungry glampers can book a pretty pallet picnic with the glamp and graze deal and add a delicious grazing board with cheeses and fruit or a delectable S’mores board to toast over the fire pit.
Ms Lynch — who can be found on Instagram at @bellelynchmusic — also offers ultimate girls nights out for milestone birthdays and Hen’s nights with stunning picnic settings complete with champagne, vodka or pink gin.

All of the set ups are completed by Ms Lynch’s team — with no pack down necessary for customers.
“The bell tents can be used for a sleepover or as a perfect sitting room or chill zone,” Ms Lynch said.
“They’re perfect in these restricted times with so many venues closed and travel plans cancelled.”
