McDonalds Skye: Paramedics catch allegedly drunk-driver in drive-through

Eagle-eyed paramedics getting a late night feed from Maccas have helped police catch an alleged drunk driver who allegedly hit the restaurant’s walls.

An alleged drunk driver has been caught out by paramedics and police after her car allegedly hit the walls of a McDonald’s restaurant on the Mornington Peninsula.

The paramedics were waiting for their order in the drive-through at the fast food chain’s Skye restaurant on the Westernport Highway when they spotted a black Mazda nearby about 10pm Thursday.

The car allegedly sideswiped the walls of the restaurant, and the paramedics then followed it as the driver drove erratically along Thompsons Rd in Lyndhurst.

The paramedics alerted police who pulled over the car further down the road, and spoke to the woman who appeared to be affected by alcohol.

The 35-year-old Point Cook woman was breath-tested and returned an alleged blood alcohol reading of .168, more than three times the legal limit.

She is expected to be charged on summons for drink driving offences and driving an unregistered car.
