McDonald’s Elsternwick: Substance affected driver smashes into restaurant

It wasn’t a happy meal for an alleged substance-affected driver who had multiple mishaps while navigating a McDonald’s drive-through in Melbourne’s southeast.

An alleged substance-affected driver came unstuck navigating the Elsternwick McDonald’s drive-through on Sunday night, hitting the wall of the restaurant before rolling into a nearby ambulance.

Victoria Police were called to the fast food restaurant on Sunday following reports of an alleged substance-affected driver.

Police allege the male driver struck the wall of the building while in the drive-through on Nepean Highway about 9pm and also rolled into a nearby ambulance vehicle.

No one was injured.

The 21-year-old Caulfield man was taken to hospital for treatment.
