An angry thug assaulted a Dandenong Hospital doctor and threatened to get his bikie mates to shoot security guards because he was furious medical staff wouldn’t treat his hurt finger.
Daniel Davis pleaded guilty to a series of assaults, resisting and threatening to kill emergency workers on duty charges at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old was on bail at the time for theft and possessing cannabis.
Documents released to the Leader show Davis attended the hospital’s emergency department at 1.10am on July 5 demanding surgery on his right little finger.
He was in a highly worked up state and was told he needed to calm down if he was to be treated.
He fell asleep before waking up at 5.30am to be told staff would not be doing surgery on his little pinky.
Davis began swearing and abusing the doctor before threatening to throw a cup of hot coffee in his face.
Three security guards were called, and Davis became even more violent.
He said “I’ll fight you, I’ll take you all on, you f***ing dogs” and “Once I get my shoes on, I’ll take ya’s on” and “I will kill you all when I have the chance”.
He tried to punch one guard and said “I’m going to come back with the bikies and I’m going to kill you, you and you” as he made a shooting gesture with his hands.
He then reached into his bag and pointed an unknown object at the security staff before he walked out of the hospital.
Police found him nearby and remanded him into custody.
He declined to be interviewed.
He had been bailed in April on charges relating to stealing $500 cash from a woman who had used an ATM and being found with 13g of cannabis in his possession.
He also has a total of 16 convictions for committing offences or failing to answer bail.
His defence lawyer told the court Davis, who has an acquired brain injury, admitted the crimes but needed time for a mental health report to be compiled.
Due to COVID-19 concerns that can’t happen while Stage 4 shutdown is on, she said, so he would have to remain on remand for at least another two months.
Davis has already spent 37 days behind bars.
Magistrate Tony Burns adjourned the case until October 27.
