Horrified drivers have captured wild scenes as a man was put into a headlock and punched while children watched on during a road rage attack on the Monash Freeway.

Horrified drivers have captured the moment a wild fight broke out on the Monash Freeway.

Video footage shows a man being held and hit by a group of people.

He was then put into a headlock and dragged to the ground.

The man was punched and kicked multiple times in front of stunned onlookers, including children.

It’s believed the road rage attack occurred just after 4pm near the Blackburn exit on Monday.

It is unclear what sparked the incident.

Victoria Police were contacted for comment.
